CV:
Javier Fernández Portales graduated in medicine and surgery by the University of Extremadura (1998) and got the doctoral degree in medicina and surgery by the “Universidad Complutense de Madrid” with honors “Cum Laude”. He did his residency in cardiology in the hospital Gegorio Marañón between 1995 and 1999, during those years he also participated in different units and departments of that hospital. Specialist in cardiology (2000) and accredited by the “Sociedad Española de Cardiología en Hemodinámica y Cardiología intervencionista”. Postgraduated in clinic electrophysiology and ablation, completed with the Magister in clinic electrophysiology and ablation at the “Universidad Complutense de Madrid”.

Nowadays, he is the Director of the Laboratoy of Hemodinamics at the hospital San Pedro de Alcántara in Cáceres and Medical Director of the Hemodinamics and interventional cardiology Unit “San Francisco”. He is also teacher of cardiology since 2000 in the intensive courses to prepare residents in Asturias.
