Matthias Baumhauer is a PostDoc researcher at the Division of Medical & Biological Informatics of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). In 2005, he graduated in technical computer sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Ulm with distinction.
From 2005 to 2008, Dr. Baumhauer was a research associate and PhD student at the lab of Prof. Hans-Peter Meinzer, German Cancer Research Center. He defended his PhD thesis entitled “Real-Time Compensation of Organ Motion for Augmented Reality in Laparoscopic Surgery” with honors. Since 2008, he is a group leader for computer assisted treatment planning and surgery. His research work comprises several peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations, including invited talks at the AUA2007 and the WC2009.
